It is with great excitement we announce the beginning of ESCORT project funded through the InnovateUK Guarantee Fund (project number: 10101882). A short summary of the project details is provided below. The project brings together 12 partners representing seven EU members and three associated countries (Greece, Italy, Belgium, Ireland, Sweden, Germany, Luxembourg, Israel, Ukraine, and United Kingdom).
ESCORT: AI enabled hEalthcare Services during Cross-bOrdeR medical emergencies and regular patienT services.
The ESCORT project has been conceptualised to enhance the healthcare service operations across Europe (and Israel) by addressing the dual modes of preparedness and crisis response. Aligned with the European Health Emergency Preparedness and Response Authority (HERA) holistic approach, ESCORT integrates intelligence gathering, research and development of medical countermeasures, and coordination of access through purchase, manufacturing, and stockpiling. Focused on overcoming challenges in organizational policies and aligning healthcare professionals’ activities, ESCORT builds upon the NO-FEAR project’s outcomes to ensure continuous patient access to healthcare during cross-border emergencies. Core activities include engaging patient advocacy groups, developing innovative patient services, optimizing resources, incorporating AI and IoT technologies, and providing evidence-based recommendations for EU health and care resilience. The consortium, comprising leading healthcare providers from six European countries, aims to deploy validated solutions from the NO-FEAR network, develop innovative digital services, and implement a co-design process for patient-centric care, while also creating training methodologies for healthcare professionals in advanced medical solutions.
